- To Help Organizations Perform Better

Reliability

To obtain the reliability of the survey, we sent the raw data to the EMBA professors in NTU (National Taiwan University) for statistical analysis. The values of Cronbach's Alpha are listed below.

The Source of Feedback  L1 (Employee)   L2 (Mid Manager)
Item Cronbach's α Cronbach's α
Leadership 0.92 0.965
Execution--Employee  0.915 0.945
Execution--Mid Manager 0.926 0.941
Execution--Top Manager -- 0.958
Management System 0.883 0.928
Organizational Culture 0.936 0.958

George and Mallery (2003) provide the following rules:

  1. α > .9  ⇒ Excellent,
  2. α > .8  ⇒ Good,
  3. α > .7  ⇒ Acceptable,
  4. α > .6  ⇒ Questionable,
  5. α > .5  ⇒ Poor,
  6. α < .5  ⇒ Unacceptable.

Others suggest an alpha of 0.70 is acceptable for a new instrument (DeVellis 1991; DeVon et al. 2007).

Conclusion: All alpha values are higher or close to 0.90. It means OrgBetter survey has excellent reliability.
